Wynnie’s 2nd week of life has been a joyous event. We’ve been blessed to have so many friends and family visit us at home to meet little miss. we have witnessed and experienced many special moments over the past week. It’s amazing how time flies and just how much a child can change each and every day! The round the clock feedings (breast feeding, bottle feeding and pumping) proved to pay off~ she has surpassed her birth weight by an entire pound (she now weighs 6 lbs 14 ozs!) Since she made such great strides, the docs says we are safe to put an end to the feeding madness which came as a great relief to mom! Now everyone will start hearing more and more from me as I enter the real world again!
The countless meals that folks have brought by are really appreciated and we promise to one day return the favor to you, as I now understand that cooking is completely out of the question during the 1st phase of parenthood!
I’ve tried to filter through what I think are the best photos though I am sure you will think there are still too many. It’s difficult as a new mother not to think every single snapshot in time is a moment to share. Wynnie was ecstatic to meet so many wonderful people who she will grow to love.

My brother Jason didn’t want to hold her because she seemed so little and fragile but you can see he is all smiles as his wife Susanne holds her close, welcome to being her favorite uncle and I know you will hold her soon!

Great Aunt Susan, Tosha and Brittany. Wynnie already loves her family!

Meet my Godmother – Miss Crystal. Thanks for spending time with us and helping us get through the night!

First outing to visit Alison and Josie! Alison and I had just enough time during our visit to feed the little girls, then it was time to say bye-bye!! Josie and Wynnie will be great friends, I am sure of it!

Raven snuggles with me!

Wynnie’s first trip to Noda gallery crawl to visit dad! Shell – love the Moby wrap!!

Sleeping Beauty!

What a special Sunday! Wynnie got to meet Killian for the very first time – her little man! It was so great to see Holly and Jessie too!

Holly – I still can’t believe we are mothers! WOW!

Partying already and love at first sight! Click the “continue reading” link to view additional pics!

Wynnie is almost 1 week old (as of Monday) and it’s still hard for me to believe that she’s here. The past week has been the best week of my life. I could never have imagined what bringing a child into the world would mean for me, for Bobby and our family. We have enjoyed every waking moment of our time getting to know our little miracle. Learning how to be a mother fills me with a happiness I have never experienced. We are blessed and thank God for our baby girl. I hope you enjoy photos of some of her “FIRST” experiences…

Wynnie is finally home! Wednesday the hospital gave Jenn and I the boot. It seems the hospital is there to help but they are also there to make money! You get 48 hours to get out after having a baby. If your baby isn’t ready… too bad, you go home. It was sooo hard to leave her at the hospital and come home empty handed. They had to keep a check on her Jaundice. Supposedly every baby has a certain level of Jaundice, but since she was early they wanted to keep a check on it. It was especially hard to see her being kept under the lights to help the Jaundice. It basically looks like a baby tanning bed. They even have to wear little mini goggles to protect their eyes! Well, thanks for all the prayers because they paid off. She’s home and doing great! Thanks Jenn for letting me get a full night sleep last night so I could work!

Wynnie Olivia Webster was delivered around 4:15pm June 30th 2008! She was an entire month and day early from her expected due date. A few pre-labor signs from over the weekend prompted Jenn to call the Dr. Monday morning, (some mild contractions and a little release of amniotic fluid.) After explaining her symptoms they suggested we go ahead to the hospital. We still started our morning pretty much as always, naively thinking we would go and be told to go home. I even went and made a deposit at the bank while Jenn was getting some things ready! We arrived at the hospital around 10:30a.m. and parked on the 4th floor! The baby boom in Charlotte is so insane right now. The one time in our entire life we have the privelage of parking in the expecting mother parking and wouldn’t you know it… all 10 spaces are full. We finally made our way up to the birthing floor and they sent us to the triage room, (a.ka. – the room where they send the multitude of Charlotte’s baby mama’s to be checked out to see if it’s really going down.) The nurse did a test strip to see if it was indeed amniotic fluid. The first reading was negative and she said it could just be some urine! Cue the Dr.’s entrance and the flood gates opened! I knew from the very startled look on Jenn’s face something very unusual had just happened. The Dr. then informed us there was no doubt that was the water breaking and the baby would be coming today! All in all once we got put into a room things couldn’t have gone any smoother, (although I didn’t have a human being come out from inside of me.) Mommy Jenn was incredible! Talk about giving someone a new respect for the female race. Jenn went through the process with no epidural and just a little pain medicine! She actually had all intentions of the epidural and was pretty much begging for it but Wynnie wanted out so bad they didn’t have a chance to administer it. The labor officially started, which was a whirl wind of bright lights coming on, surgical tables being brought into the room and a nurse instructing me to grab one leg and pull it back as far as humanly possible. After about 30 minutes and some intense breathing and pushing Wynnie made her way into the world. I knew all the pregnancy yoga was good for something. Watching the birth of your child is more incredible than any words can express. During the whole process it felt like a dagger was wrenching into my guts and it was all I could do to hold back tears of emotion. Partly because I felt so bad because of the anguish in Jenn’s face and partly because I was witnessing this most beautiful occasion. Well if you are still with me in my novel, you must really care or are really bored at work. Seriously, we love everyone has supported us during the pregnancy and be on the lookout for cutesy baby pictures.
